Critical Care Nurse in Farmington, ME

A dynamic opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse specializing in ICU care to provide critical support at a well-equipped medical center in Farmington, ME. This contract position is ideal for an experienced RN ready to manage complex cases in a fast-paced Intensive Care Unit setting, focusing on delivering expert care to adult patients.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing high-acuity nursing care to critically ill adults with a patient ratio of 1:2.
• Assisting with intubation, ventilator management, and hemodynamic monitoring.
• Coordinating patient care and managing unstable or critically ill patients.
• Supporting occasional PACU recovery duties during off-hours.
• Floating to med-surg or telemetry units as needed.
• Ensuring adherence to facility policies and best practices in patient care.

Qualifications & Desired

Experience:

• Active RN licensure with 3-5 years of ICU or critical care experience preferred.
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS; CCRN preferred but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with ventilator management, central line care, medication administration, and use of hemodynamic monitoring equipment such as Philips systems.
• Experience with EMR systems, EPIC preferred.
• Energetic, compassionate, detail-oriented, dependable, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.

Schedule &

Location:

• Night shifts covering 36 hours weekly.
• Every other weekend required.
• No mandatory call, though occasional call may be offered.
