Overview

Maine Health Franklin Hospital is seeking a Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) to care for patients in the hospital at Maine Health Franklin Hospital in Farmington, Maine. The APP will evaluate and treat patients primarily on the hospital medicine ward, including completing admissions and providing consultative services to the various sub-specialties within the hospital, including the emergency department. The APP will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team of physicians, nursing staff, care management, and ancillary services to ensure optimal patient care.

This position offers a team-based environment with a supportive hospital community and opportunities to grow skills by caring for a patient population with complex needs. The APP will participate in quality initiative programs within the department of hospital medicine to facilitate exceptional patient care. This position is full-time with a variable, request-based schedule and includes weekend and holiday shifts. New Grads are welcome to apply.

Scheduling

Scheduled hours: 10-hour shifts; daytime shifts (7 am to 5 pm), with the potential for swing shifts (9 am to 7 pm); part-time and full-time opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Current license issued by the State of Maine or eligible for licensure.
  • Experience in hospital medicine preferred, not required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to effectively triage, organize and prioritize.
  • Ability to function as part of a team.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
