OverviewMaine Health Franklin Hospital is seeking a Physician Associate (PA) to care for patients in the hospital at Maine Health Franklin Hospital in Farmington, Maine. The role includes Advanced Practice Providers (APP) evaluating and treating patients primarily on the hospital medicine ward but also include completing admissions as well as providing consultative services to the various sub‑specialties within the hospital including the emergency department.
The APP will work collaboratively with members of the multidisciplinary team of physicians, nursing staff, care management, and ancillary services to ensure optimal patient care. A great team‑based atmosphere with a strong hospital community provides a supportive environment for practitioners to grow their skills by caring for a patient population with complex needs. To facilitate providing exceptional patient care, practitioners will participate in quality initiative programs within the department of hospital medicine.

ScheduleVariable, request‑based schedule with 10‑hour shifts. Daytime shifts (7 am to 5 pm) with potential swing shifts (9 am to 7 pm). Part‑time and full‑time opportunities are available.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree and successful completion of accredited Physician Assistant program
- Current license issued by the State of Maine or eligible for licensure
- Experience in hospital medicine preferred, not required
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
- Ability to effectively triage, organize and prioritize
- Ability to function as part of a team
- Proficient computer skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Collaborative, team approach to patient care
- Well‑appointed 25‑bed critical access hospital; a member of Maine Health
- Full‑time or part‑time, day/evening shift schedule
