Reporting to the VP of Operations, the Quality Engineer is a hands-on position responsible for ensuring quality of manufactured parts.
In this role you will:
- Implement and maintain the company quality system, documenting processes and procedures accordingly
- Create and revise SOPs, work instructions, and forms
- Conduct receiving, in-process, and final product inspections, documenting results; determine and update inspection and test procedures
- Conduct Quality audits
- Assist with preparation for management reviews
- Calibrate shop floor measurement equipment and manage calibration for new tools
- Establish and capture quality-related metrics
- Consult to manufacturing to ensure quality product is being produced
- Perform root cause analysis; communicate and document findings of any non-conforming product
- Interface with customers, suppliers and/or regulatory agencies as appropriate
- Oversee source inspections and complete all associated documentation
- Assist in the identification and selection of new vendors
- Review and analyze quality records, methods and plans to improve performance and reduce waste
- AS in Engineering or related or 5 years of experience
- Experience with quality inspection techniques and measuring equipment
- Familiarity with ISO
9001/AS9100D - Interpersonal communications skills
- Detail oriented
- Responsible; follows-through on tasks
- Ability to quickly analyze a situation and follow a systematic approach to problem resolution
