The Welder is responsible for performing hand welding operations in all positions for mechanical strength on standardized assemblies and products.
Responsibilities- Perform various types of welding: MIG, TIG, spot welding, robot welding with various materials.
- Grind parts as suggested by routing and drawings.
- Set up own work and weld according to welding drawings and routings.
- Stay up to date with changes to the process by reading the routings for each job order.
- Operate welding machine, spot welder, and welding robot for proper fusion of metals, using hand grinder as needed.
- Read and understand blueprints and written specifications (also in metric system).
- Maintain shop, tools, and other welding equipment by performing 5S and TPM activities.
- Maintain high standards of quality by ensuring parts passed to a subsequent work center are good.
- Responsible for quality of parts and work performed on parts.
- Position requires extended periods of standing, bending, and lifting up to 70 lbs.
- Prior welding experience is required.
