Sample Shop Engineer​/Team Lead

Overview

Summary: This position is responsible for managing Sample Shop activities.

• Manage the Sample Shop schedule which includes maintaining open orders and organizing builds which provide Gantt chart transparency to the engineering team.
• Understand equipment capability and ensure functionality for sample builds/troubleshoot any equipment issues.
• Hold weekly meetings with our remote production facility to ensure parts are shipped in a timely fashion.
• Work closely with the engineering team to confirm sample requirements are understood and met.
• Ensure the Sample Shop equipment and area is organized and clean.
• Improve Sample Shop efficiency and flow.
• Lift or move up to 50 pounds when handling equipment or product.
• Use the following software programs when performing this job:
  Microsoft Word, Excel, SAP and internal EDM programs for data acquisition.
• Travel as required to support the Department.
• Assist in building prototypes as needed which can include the following: adding thermocouples to motor windings, winding production, stator production and motor assembly.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Recommended Education and/or Experience

Bachelors Degree in a related field; or minimum four years related experience; or combination of education and related experience.
