Maintenance Supervisor (Machinist / Toolmaker)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Department Supervisor to work onsite at our client in Farmington, CT. In this role, you’ll oversee machine maintenance and repair operations in a manufacturing environment. This role supervises maintenance technicians, performs hands‑on machining and mechanical repair, manages work orders, and trains apprentices while ensuring safe and efficient operation of production equipment.

• Supervise maintenance technicians and apprentices; assign work and provide hands‑on training
• Oversee repair, rebuilding, and installation of production machinery
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform equipment dismantling and reassembly
• Perform machining tasks including designing, fabricating, grinding, and repairing machine parts
• Build small tools or equipment as needed to support production
• Use Manager Plus CMMS to manage work requests, create work orders, and maintain asset records
• Maintain MRO inventory, purchase repair parts, and manage spare components
• Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards, including Lockout/Tagout and rigging practices

• Machinist or Toolmaker Journeyman certification required in order to train and mentor apprentices
• 3–5 years of maintenance supervisory experience required
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and machining experience
• Experience repairing power press machines is a plus
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, Lockout/Tagout, and rigging procedures
• Experience using CMMS or maintenance management systems
