Position Summary

We are seeking a senior-level Service Now HRSD Developer who will be responsible for the development and ongoing support of the Service Now Human Resources Service Delivery (HRSD) platform at Hartford Healthcare. This role will handle complex customizations, scripting (JavaScript, Glide API), and building custom applications or integrations with HCM systems, and requires technical coding expertise. This role partners closely with HR, IT, and business stakeholders to ensure HR services are delivered efficiently, securely, and in alignment with organizational policies and best practices.

Works directly with business stakeholders to understand requirements, design solutions, and develop and configure all platform changes

Position Responsibilities Key Areas of Responsibility Platform Hands-On Development & Implementation
  • Build and configure all Service Now applications, workflows, and integrations
  • Develop reports, dashboards, Performance Analytics, and data visualizations
  • Implement and maintain integrations with HR systems, Active Directory, and other enterprise tools
  • Custom application development using Service Now Studio, App Engine, Script Includes, Scripted REST APIs.
  • Server-side scripting:
    Glide API, Glide Record, business rules, script includes, scheduled scripts.
  • Client-side scripting: client scripts, UI policies, UI scripts, UI actions.
  • Integration: web services (REST/SOAP), MID Server tasks, message queues, inbound/outbound integration patterns.
  • Advanced workflow/orchestration:
    Flow Designer, Integration Hub spokes, Flow Logic.
  • Custom UI:
    Service Portal widgets, UI Builder pages, custom components.
  • Automated testing: ATF, unit-style testing for scripted components.
  • Conduct thorough testing, debugging, and quality assurance of all development work
  • Data model design and complex data transformations.
Integration & Data Management
  • Support integrations between Service Now HRSD and other HR systems (e.g., HRIS, identity management tools).
  • Monitor data quality, perform audits, and ensure accurate reporting and compliance.
Incident, Request & Change Management
  • Provide Tier 2/3 support for HRSD incidents and service requests.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve platform issues, performance concerns, and defects.
  • Support upgrades, patches, and releases, including testing and validation.
Platform Strategy & Governance (In Partnership with IT Leadership)

Collaborate with IT leadership to develop and maintain the platform roadmap

  • Recommend enhancements, new modules, and platform capabilities
  • Establish development standards and best practices for the platform
  • Provide input on platform priorities and resource allocation
  • Advise leadership on technical feasibility and level of effort for initiatives
Qualifications Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
Experience
  • 4+ years of progressive experience in Service Now.
  • Strong experience with Flow Designer, Workflow, and automation tools
  • Multiple full lifecycle Service Now implementations from requirements through deployment
  • Track record of post-implementation platform optimization and stabilization
  • Experience with Service Now reporting, Performance Analytics, and dashboards
  • Integration experience (REST/SOAP APIs, Integration Hub, MID Server)
Licensure, Certification, Registration
  • Service Now HRSD certification
