The Return-to-Work (RTW) Navigator is responsible for coordinating and supporting colleagues returning from a leave of absence. This role serves as the primary point of contact for colleagues, managers, and HR throughout the RTW process, ensuring smooth, efficient, and compliant transitions. The RTW Navigator collaborates with internal stakeholders to manage accommodations, streamline communications, and promote positive colleague experiences while reducing absence durations.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Serve as the primary advocate and contact for colleagues preparing to return from leave.
- Guide colleagues through the return process, providing clear information on expectations, accommodations, and available resources.
- Partner with HR, Colleague Health, and Workers’ Compensation teams to align RTW processes with organizational policies.
- Collaborate with managers to identify and address potential barriers to a successful return.
- Coordinate and oversee individualized RTW plans, including phased returns or modified duties, in collaboration with managers and HR.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state leave regulations and organizational policies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of RTW plans, communications, and accommodations ensuring proper documentation and adherence to organizational policies and legal requirements (i.e. ADA, FMLA, workers’ compensation).
- Bachelor’s degree, advanced training, or equivalent related work experience.
- 3+ years of experience in absence management, return-to-work coordination, HR, or disability case management.
- Experience working with leave programs (FMLA, ADA, workers’ compensation) preferred.
- Familiarity with leave management systems and HRIS platforms
