Job Summary:

The Medical Assistant provides basic clinical and clerical support in the delivery of patient care within the Medical Assistant scope of education. The position involves continuous training of all aspects of the role.

• Provides direct patient care under the direction of the provider, including vitals, allergy/medical reconciliation, screenings, cameras, patient history, health maintenance, advance directives, and virtual health.
• Provides indirect patient care related to the MA scope of education such as scheduling, check‑in/out, referrals, chart preparation, and prior authorizations. Conducts point‑of‑care testing with quality control and documentation.
• Performs administrative duties and covers the front desk as needed.
• Provides coverage at regional offices, bringing variety to daily work and opportunities to collaborate across multiple teams and communities. Reliable transportation required.

Qualifications:

• Education: Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program OR active CT CNA, EMT, Paramedic, or Medic certification OR relative experience as outlined below.
• Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) within 3 months of hire date.
• All required credentials must be maintained throughout employment.

Experience:

• At least one year of experience in direct patient care (acute or ambulatory) if education requirement not met.
• Relevant experience or MA externship in a busy medical office preferred.
• EPIC EMR experience preferred.
