Accounting Manager

Description We are looking for a skilled Accounting Manager to oversee key financial operations, including month-end closings, account reconciliations, and audits. This role requires an individual with strong attention to detail, expertise in managing general ledger activities, and a commitment to compliance with financial reporting standards. The position offers a long-term contract opportunity in Farmington, Connecticut, and provides a chance to contribute to a dynamic financial team.

Responsibilities:

- Manage month-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

- Oversee general ledger activities, including maintenance and reconciliation of accounts.

- Coordinate and support financial statement audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

- Prepare and review journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.

- Perform detailed account reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes and reporting.

- Provide leadership and guidance to accounting staff, fostering growth and development.

- Ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures while implementing best practices.

- Analyze financial data and generate reports for management decision-making.

- Assist in forecasting and budgeting activities to align with organizational goals. Requirements - Proven experience in accounting management or a related role.

- Strong knowledge of month-end closing processes and general ledger activities.

- Proficiency in conducting financial statement audits and ensuring compliance.

- Expertise in preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts.

- Familiarity with accounting software and tools for financial reporting.

- Attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data.

- Excellent organizational and time management skills.

- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively within a team.
