Permanent Building Substitute needed for the school year! GREAT opportunity for those interested in obtaining a teaching certification or those looking to support their local district. This position will allow direct experience working in the classroom as a teacher or paraprofessional. This position will support Grades 5-6 at West Woods Upper Elementary School and occasionally other elementary schools in the district.
Permanent Building Subdaily pay rate: $140 per day!
All Permanent Building Substituesareguaranteedan assignment every day that school is in session. Assignments will be made daily based on your home-school. Position may terminate at the end of the school year.
General DescriptionThe Upper Elementary School Substitute Teacher is responsible for providing instruction and classroom management for students in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. The substitute teacher ensures a productive learning environment, follows lesson plans, and adapts instruction to meet the needs of students.
Key Responsibilities- Follow lesson plans provided by the regular classroom teacher to ensure continuity of instruction.
- Manage the classroom by maintaining student behavior and enforcing school rules and policies.
- Deliver instructional material in a clear, engaging, and effective manner.
- Provide supervision for students during lunch, recess, and other non-instructional times as needed.
- Address and support the individual needs of students, providing additional guidance or assistance when necessary.
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents when necessary.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times.
- Report any issues or concerns to the regular teacher or principal.
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Prior experience working with children or in an educational setting is a plus.
- Ability to manage a classroom and adapt to a variety of teaching situations.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Patience, flexibility, and the ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of basic educational principles and practices.
