Our client in Farmington, CT is seeking a dedicated Staff Accountant to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals with a passion for general accounting and strong attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Process and oversee payroll accounting operations with precision and timeliness.
- Prepare and record journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Perform account reconciliations to maintain the integrity of financial records.
- Ensure compliance with corporate tax requirements, including preparation and review of tax returns.
- Handle sales tax calculations and filings as part of regular accounting duties.
- Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and complete.
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary financial data for reporting purposes.
- Assist with audits by providing documentation and supporting evidence as needed.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records to uphold accuracy.
- Support month-end and year-end financial closing activities.
Requirements
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
+ 1-3 years of relevant experience in general accounting
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, SAP, Oracle)
+ Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to problem-solve and manage multiple priorities
+ Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach
