MPS Group, Inc., is seeking a Dispatcher to join our team at Headquarters located in Farmington Hills, MI
. The Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating personnel, equipment, and supplies needed to support various internal and external customer requests. This position involves managing communications, scheduling work, organizing job-related documentation, and ensuring that all resources are efficiently deployed and tracked. The Dispatcher will work closely with internal teams, including Operations and Warehouse personnel, to ensure smooth operations and timely completion of tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Receive calls from customers and schedule work assignments based on availability of personnel, equipment, and supplies.
  • Coordinate with MPS (Maintenance and Project Services) personnel to verify the availability of staff and resources.
  • Manage the Dispatch Calendar (Line Up) to track and confirm employee assignments and work status.
  • Create, distribute, and track Dispatch Sheets to manage daily operations, emergencies, and customer requests.
  • Ensure that all scheduled work is properly documented and completed according to customer and internal requirements.
  • Pre-job prep, including loading trucks and trailers, and ensuring that supplies are delivered to job sites on time.
  • Verify that all vehicles have complete Truck Books (insurance, registration, and necessary permits).
  • Coordinate the delivery of supplies and equipment to job sites, ensuring that all materials are accounted for and arrive on time.
  • Unload and inspect returned materials and equipment from job sites.
  • Inspect all returned items for damage or wear and ensure proper restocking, repair, or replacement as necessary.
  • Ensure the efficient management of waste containers, maintaining compliance with QEMS recycling standards.
  • Oversee the cleanliness and organization of interior spaces such as the storage bays, wash bay, and the Dispatch office.
  • Coordinate supplemental personnel support as needed, ensuring that extra manpower is scheduled and dispatched in a timely manner.
  • Assist with the management and coordination of equipment, tools, and materials to meet the operational needs of the business.
  • Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, with exposure to varying temperature.
  • Long hours may be required, including standing, crouching, bending, climbing, or performing repetitive tasks.
Requirements And Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively via phone, email, and in person.
  • Ability to coordinate logistics efficiently and manage multiple tasks and schedules simultaneously.
  • Must possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure work is completed on time and materials are properly tracked.
  • The ability to operate warehouse vehicles and equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Interpersonal skills:
    Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, suppliers, and customers in a professional, courteous manner.
  • Ability to manage and maintain operational inventories of supplies, tools, and equipment.
  • Ability to identify and select appropriate PPE for various tasks.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for site visits or job support.
  • Ability to work during seasonal outages, including holidays, weekends, and off-shift hours.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations specific to industrial cleaning, including fall protection, Haz Com, respiratory protection, LOTO (Lockout/Tagout), PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), and confined space entry.
  • Understanding of Dispatch operations and workflows, including equipment scheduling, personnel allocation, and job status tracking.
  • Knowledge of the materials, equipment, supplies, and terminology used in industrial cleaning and related services.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook) to create and manage schedules, Dispatch Sheets, Material Requisition Sheets, and safety plans.
Physical Qualifications
  • Significant walking, climbing stairs, and standing for long periods.
  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling materials over 50 pounds.
  • Frequent bending, squatting, reaching, twisting, and maintaining physical endurance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • OSHA 10/30-Hour certification.
  • HAZWOPER training.
  • PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) certification.
  • MI Chauffeur’s license or ability to obtain, with a clean driving record.
