Onsite – Farmington Hills, MI 48335
Key Responsibilities- Use hand tools and testing instruments to diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components and isolate defects in wiring, switches, motors and other electrical equipment
- Replace faulty switches, sockets and other elements of electrical systems
- Dismantle electrical machinery and replace defective electrical or mechanical parts such as gears, brushes and armatures
- Mount motors, transformers and lighting fixtures into position and complete circuits according to diagram specifications
- Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures
- Inspect completed work for conformance with requirements of local building and safety codes
- Estimate time and material costs on electrical projects
- Requisition new electrical supplies and equipment
- Read and interpret blue-prints or electrical schematics and has knowledge of the National Electric Code
- Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately
- Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.)
- Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Ability to interpret work instructions
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions
- Intermediate verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Manual dexterity
- Ability to lift/move heavy objects
- Physical stamina
- Perform work under direct supervision
- Handle basic issues and problems and refer more complex issues to higher-level staff
- Possess beginning working knowledge of subject matter
- Require accreditation from a technical school or applicable skilled trades program and 5+ years of experience
