AUTOMOTIVE SALES CONSULTANT

Responsibilities
  • Sell automobiles by understanding and demonstrating characteristics, capabilities, and features; develop and qualify buyers and close sales.
  • Greet customers on the sales floor; determine make, type, and quality of vehicle desired.
  • Explain features and demonstrate operation of vehicles in showroom or on road.
  • Suggest optional equipment for customers to purchase.
  • Research availability of models and optional equipment.
  • Consult with Sales Manager when necessary; ensure a customer is not left without first consulting with a sales Manager.
  • Compute and quote sales prices, including tax, trade-in allowance, license fee, and discount, and coordinate financing requirements.
  • Prepare related paperwork and applications (sales slip, credit application, etc.).
  • Deliver new vehicles to customers and ensure understanding of operating features, warranty, paperwork, and foster customer loyalty.
  • Maintain a prospect development system.
  • Remain knowledgeable of new products, features, and accessories.
  • Attend sales meetings and training sessions (at various locations) as scheduled.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Meet, or exceed, written forecast and projected sales numbers.
Qualifications
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • A valid driver’s license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) are required.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
