Responsibilities
- Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of compliance policies and procedures.
- Monitor and track laws and regulatory updates across multiple jurisdictions relevant to Property & Casualty insurance (e.g., DOI bulletins, NAIC guidance).
- Support state filings and regulatory reporting processes in coordination with underwriting, legal, and product teams.
- Conduct regular internal reviews and audits to ensure compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
- Maintain compliance documentation, including records of training, filings, and regulatory correspondence.
- Help manage producer licensing and appointment tracking.
- Assist in responding to regulatory inquiries, exams, and audits.
- Prepare training materials and assist in delivering compliance-related training to employees.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in compliance processes and procedures.
- Maintain relationships with state DOI and other regulatory bureaus/entities.
- Work with underwriting and claims departments to draft and review policies, endorsements, and forms.
- Assist with drafting and reviewing agency and agent agreements.
- Oversee agency and agent regulatory compliance.
- Assist with review of contracts and agreements as required.
- Research and analyze requirements resulting from new program managers, new products, or changes in insurance regulations.
- Other duties within scope of qualifications as may be assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration.
- Law or public policy degree is a plus.
- A minimum of two years of experience in an insurance compliance position.
- Knowledge of Property & Casualty insurance.
- Knowledge of NAIC and state insurance regulatory compliance.
- Working familiarity of System for Electronic Rate Form Filings (SERFF).
- Working knowledge of Insurance Product Filings.
- Knowledge of NAIC annual statement lines of business.
- Excellent people and interpersonal skills.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently upon management direction.
- Ability to balance multiple concurrent timelines/tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to effectively collaborate and direct compliance issues to appropriate channels for investigation and resolution.
