Job DescriptionThe Payroll Tax Analyst is responsible for ensuring payroll tax compliance and reconciliations in Canada, as well as providing tax support for the United States. You will play a vital role in delivering accurate statutory reporting, timely remittance submissions, and resolving payroll tax issues, while also supporting payroll processing as needed. You will have hands on exposure to cross-border payroll operations, collaboration with internal stakeholders, and participation in audits and compliance initiatives.
Responsibilities- Manage Payroll tax processes across monthly, quarterly and year end cycles.
- Prepare and file monthly, quarterly and annual payroll taxes for federal, provincial and local as needed.
- Investigate and resolve payroll tax discrepancies, penalties and agency notices.
- Verify data for accuracy to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and organizational policies and procedures.
- Monitor legislative change and assess payroll tax impacts.
- You will provide guidance to the payroll processor regarding payroll runs.
- Prepare vacation liability reports for Canada sites.
- Performs other duties as assigned or apparent.
- Coordinate vacation payouts.
- HS Diploma
- Minimum of two years Payroll tax experience
- Strong Knowledge of Canadian and US payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements
- PCP or PLP certification
- Attention to detail with strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Proficiency in auditing techniques and advanced payroll compliance knowledge
- Advanced Excel skills
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
- SAP experience
