Financial Manager, Accounting & Finance
Overview
A multi-industry manufacturing, distribution and professional services company is seeking a Finance Manager to join their automotive components manufacturing division's Finance and Accounting team in the Farmington, MI area. This position is responsible for budget planning, balance sheet health, and client's credit/risk management. Additionally, the Finance Manager oversees daily finance and accounting operations including oversight of general ledger, accounts receivable, as well as financial reporting to local leadership and international headquarters.
This is a full-time, exempt, onsite position with comprehensive benefits package.
EssentialJob Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day accounting operations and approvals for assigned sales sections: general ledger, overdue accounts receivable, fixed assets, account reconciliations and financial close.
- Prepare management / KPI reporting, financial reporting, and related variance analyses.
- Assist with budgeting and shared service allocations for assigned division(s).
- Support external and internal audits, including providing supporting documentation and responding to audit findings.
- Maintain a high standard of balance sheet accuracy through preparing and reviewing reconciliations to reduce risk.
- Continuously monitor the profitability of business activities and provide management with actionable, data-driven insights
- Additional duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
- Master of Science in Finance, Master of Business Administration, or similar
- Experienced with leading financial statement creation, budget planning, monthly/quarterly/annual reporting, FP&A, cash flow management, and tax/audit support
- Experienced with training and development of subordinate teams
- Proficient in various computer systems and software suites including MS Office's Excel (VBA/Macro automation is a plus), SQL, BI tools (Power
BI, Tableau, etc.), and basic ERP usage (SAP, Oracle, Workday, etc.) - Japanese language skills is a plus but not required
- Professional Certifications in the following are a plus: CPA, CFA, CTP
- High attention to detail, comfortable multi-tasking, and works well independently and in a team
- Comfortable with regular travel, up to 40-50%
- Physical requirements:
intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 20 pounds, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel paperwork and interact with a computer, talk and hear. May be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
