We are currently seeking a Senior Vehicle Mechanical Engineer for our Vehicle Engineering Practice in Farmington Hills, MI. The individual must have 5-10 years of experience in the automotive industry. In this role, you will work as part of a team on research involving vehicle collisions, crash testing, and vehicle structures. The candidate should be technically talented with good hands-on skills, have excellent communication skills, and be motivated to ultimately develop their own consulting practice and grow professionally within Exponent.

• Engineering analysis
• Researching crash testing
• Researching vehicle structures
• Managing vehicle crash litigation work
• Hands-on automotive work
• Vehicle inspections
• Synthesizing work into presentations and reports for diverse audiences

• 5-10 years of experience in the automotive industry
• Ph.D. or M.S. in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering (or a related field)
• P.E. license or the willingness to obtain a P.E. license
• A fundamental interest and knowledge base in the automotive field
• Must be versatile, team-oriented, willing to work overtime and travel when required
• Must possess strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to synthesize technical information and present it to specialists and non-specialists alike
• Clear written communication and technical writing skills are required
• Must have a proven dedication to quality and accuracy
