Job Description

The Supplier Quality Engineer is a key component in ensuring suppliers meet the required quality standards and specifications set forth by Ride Control LLC. The role involves evaluating supplier processes, conducting audits, coaching, supporting root‑cause analysis, performing scheduled and unscheduled visits, driving corrective action on systemic issues, monitoring sorting activity, and recouping costs in a timely manner. The position requires adherence to Ride Control’s code of conduct and may involve up to 60% domestic and international travel.

Principle

Responsibilities
  • Assist Ride Control LLC plants within the Quality team.
  • Analyze and complete supplier risk assessments.
  • Conduct on‑site and virtual supplier audits and work with suppliers to develop and follow up on corrective actions, completing validation analysis.
  • Work proactively with Operations to review supplier quality and delivery performance issues.
  • Determine potential risks on components and mitigate disruptions to manufacturing facilities.
  • Ensure action plans for risk‑based suppliers are developed and monitored.
  • Support Run @ Rates and PPAP activities as necessary.
  • Compile weekly/monthly executive reports for Quality, Operations, and Purchasing.
  • Publish quarterly supplier scorecards.
Qualifications
  • Five (5) years of Supplier Quality experience in automotive components.
  • Experience in the following audits:
    • IATF Internal Auditing (certification required)
    • PPAP process from award of program to SOP (start of production), including capacity study / Run @ Rate and control plan process walk/review
    • Six Sigma – Green Belt minimum
    • Supplier risk assessments
    • Sourcing / resourcing activity
  • Engineering and technical competence required.
  • Experience managing 3rd‑party sorting activity.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Excellent computer skills (Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, SharePoint, ERP systems such as CMS/Epicor/IQMS).
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Strong initiative, business acumen, and critical thinking.
  • Domestic and international travel required up to 60%; valid passport and driver’s license necessary.
  • Ability to manage activities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proven automotive experience in metals, stampings, rubber, plastic injection, forging, machining, sintered metals, and springs.
  • Fluency in one or more languages is a definite asset;
    Spanish is preferred but not required.
