ASAP. 10+ hours Spring/Fall/Winter, Monday‑Friday between 8:00 am & 5:00 pm. Optional: 25+ hours in Summer.
Basic ResponsibilitiesThe Preschool Instructor will lead and assist with activities for the Nature Preschool and Summer Camp programs as assigned by the Lead Preschool Teacher. The Preschool Instructor works directly with students. The Instructor is directly accountable to the Lead Teacher, Preschool Director and Nature Center Supervisor and adjunctly accountable to the Deputy Director of Special Services and the Director of Special Services.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience in outdoor programming, environmental education, teaching, summer camp coordination, childcare or related experience required.
EducationA degree or college coursework in environmental education, interpretation, biology, natural history, or education preferred. Teaching Certificate is not required but encouraged.
Special Skills & TrainingExcellent oral and written communications skills, as well as good organizational skills required. Ability to successfully lead Environmental Education programs for preschoolers, in addition to a strong knowledge of the natural world. Valid MI driver's license with good driving record is required. CPR/First Aid training preferred.
