Job Description

The Data Engineer will design, develop, and maintain the organization’s Azure-based data infrastructure and manage API integrations across key business systems. This role ensures seamless data flow, interoperability, security, and scalability to support strategic decision-making. The Data Engineer will work closely with IT, business analysts, and department leaders to align data architecture with business goals while upholding CHERRY’s core values.

- Design and implement a robust Azure-based data warehouse using Azure Synapse
- Build, manage, and optimize secure data pipelines using Azure Data Factory
- Implement and manage serverless computing solutions using Azure Functions
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and availability across systems
- Lead API integration efforts for internal and external systems
- Support data onboarding and integration for acquisitions
- Provide technical documentation and leadership for data architecture and integrations
- Act as DBA for the Azure Synapse environment, ensuring optimal performance and security
- Define and enforce data governance, access controls, and backup strategies
- Integrate ERP, CRM, FSM, and project management platforms with enterprise data systems
- Monitor and resolve API and data pipeline issues
- Manage ETL processes to transform raw data into structured formats for reporting
- Collaborate with BI developers and analysts to ensure timely, accurate, and secure reporting
- Recommend and implement architecture and performance improvements
- Support data integration with Microsoft Fabric and other enterprise platforms
- Proven experience with Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Functions
- Proficiency in SQL, RESTful APIs, JSON, and third-party system integrations
- Knowledge of ERP, FSM, and project management systems
- Strong understanding of data security, compliance, and optimization
- Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric and Power BI
- Skilled in acquisition data onboarding and merging
- Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills
- Demonstrated experience building and managing data warehouses and pipelines in Azure
- Strong technical expertise in API integrations and enterprise system connectivity
- Experience with large-scale Azure data architecture and performance tuning
- Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
- Prolonged use of a computer while at a desk (seated or standing)
- Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds
