Responsibilities

Responsible for organizing, coordinating and implementing the Trauma Program. Actively participates in performance improvement data collection, activities, and functions to promote an integrated Trauma program and ensure the provision of high-quality care to trauma patients. Collaborates with personnel involved with the Trauma Program. Assists with the development and implementation of trauma initiatives, trauma policies and procedures, including staff education activities. Evaluates the Trauma Program through data capture, follow-up and trend analysis and presents findings to appropriate committees.

Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team on identified performance improvement issues (PDCA), implementation of new services, and systems/performance measures for the Trauma Program.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
  • Current Texas RN License.
  • Five years clinical experience in a hospital care setting with a minimum of two years of emergency room experience preferred.
  • Knowledgeable on current State of Texas Trauma Rules and Regulations preferred.
  • ACLS certified current.
  • PALS/ENPC, TNCC/ATCN, and SAMA certified preferred or recommended within one year of hire.
