* PURPOSE:
** Responsible for managing the procurement of goods and services by sourcing, negotiating with, and managing supplier relationships, all while optimizing costs, quality and delivery times.
** ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
** This role is responsible for purchasing and negotiating favorable terms for price, quality, and delivery while building and maintaining strong relationships with both new and existing vendors. Primary responsibilities include:
* Enter purchase orders, verify order information, track order confirmation, monitor open orders, expedite, follow-up with suppliers, monitor supplier performance and maintain ERP system data integrity.
* Collaborates with planning, accounts payable, logistics department and requesters to align procurement activities with business goals and production schedules.
* Ensures that materials and services are purchased at a reasonable cost, within budget, and delivered on time.
* Analyze procured planned MRP production demands, safety stocks, indirect buys.
* Achieve cost savings by issuing RFQ’s, comparing and evaluating offers, negotiating contract terms and pricing.
* Monitor supplier commit dates to ensure these are aligned with manufacturing need dates and expedited parts as needed.
* Interface with Accounting for any invoice-related transactions or problems.
* Coordinate purchasing activities to maintain inventory safety stock.
* Confirm delivery information and availability of materials.
* Interface with suppliers to expedite shortage or identify risks before they happen.
* Communicate schedule risk to planners and applicable stakeholders.
* Manage return orders to suppliers.
* Eliminate root causes of availability issues.
* Onboarding Suppliers and verifying documents.
** PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS
*** Bachelor's degree in related fields such as Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance or Engineering is desired.
* APICS application and certification(s) or equivalent preferred.
* Experience with ERP systems including Oracle and procurement software required.
* Ability to work on multiple tasks and deliver results with aggressive timelines
* Strong verbal/written communication skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both suppliers and internal customers.
* Data management skills, including Excel a plus.
* Strong analytical, and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent attention to detail.
