Production Scheduler (Administrative)
SUMMARY:
The Production Scheduler is responsible for developing, executing, and maintaining detailed production schedules based on established plans, priorities, and operational constraints. This role focuses on work order maintenance, material coordination, line scheduling, and daily schedule adherence while collaborating closely with Operations, Quality, Warehouse, Purchasing, and other departments. The position ensures production activities are accurately scheduled, updated, and communicated to support operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and customer service goals.
Compensation:
The anticipated hiring range for this position is $55,, depending on experience and qualifications. Candidates with significantly greater experience or leadership capabilities may be considered for an expanded scope role, which could include a higher level and corresponding compensation.
- Create, update, and maintain production work orders in the ERP system, including changes, substitutions, and alternate materials.
- Ensure accuracy of material and version control.
- Review product's Master Data and formulas to confirm work orders reflect current specifications.
- Execute and adjust production schedules to respond to short-term changes, escalating significant issues as appropriate.
- Schedule production activities considering sanitation requirements, product identity preservation, and line capacity.
- Assign production lines based on established capacity guidelines and product requirements.
- Coordinate overtime scheduling as directed to support schedule adherence.
- Participate in cross-departmental schedule review meetings and communicate updates to affected teams.
- Communicate finalized production schedules to USDA as required.
- Coordinate with Warehouse and Purchasing to identify material shortages and support adjustments to delivery timing.
- Assist with programming and tracking of non-conforming material usage in coordination with Quality Assurance and Warehouse departments.
- Track daily schedule adherence and update production plans accordingly.
- Maintain and update Overall Equipment Efficiency data within assigned software systems and tools.
- Support coordination with R&D, Maintenance, IT, and other departments regarding activities that affect production schedules or line availability.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records related to scheduling and production execution.
- Identify opportunities to improve scheduling efficiency, material flow, and schedule adherence through process improvement and system utilization.
Education: Associate degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted.
Experience: 35 years of production scheduling or manufacturing planning experience in a manufacturing environment. ERP experience required. Additional experience in scheduling leadership, capacity planning, or multi-line operations may be considered for expanded scope.
