Utility Helper - Temporary - Faribault, MN

We anticipate the need for one or more Temporary Utility Helper position to be located at our Faribault Service Center in Faribault, MN. The starting rate of pay for this position is $28.69 hourly. The anticipated start date for this position will be in March and could potentially extend for the remainder of 2026. This position will be posted for five business days from January 15, 2026, to January 21, 2026.

In this position, you can assist in a variety of job function within Gas Operations. Work ranges from performing leak survey of our gas system to performing maintenance, installation and repair of our gas facilities. These positions work with regulation, metering, odorization, customer piping and below and above ground piping.

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

• Previous construction or mechanical work experience
• Natural gas leak survey

There are two levels of gas helpers entry level and advanced. In order to be considered for placement in the advanced level, applicant must meet all requirements outlined above along with work experience in natural gas, polyfusion, possession of a CDL (Class

A), operation of heavy equipment.

Placement within the two levels will be commensurate with candidate's skills, education, experience and need. Applicant is required to successfully pass the Xcel Energy screening requirements, which includes security clearance.

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $28.69 to $40.12 per hour
