Job DescriptionPhlebotomy Technician – Faribault, MN
Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM, with rotational weekends.
Shift: Evening.
Employment type:
Regular Full‑Time. Work mode:
On‑site.
Location:
Faribault, Minnesota.
Pay range: $23.00 – $28.00 per hour. Eligible for a 10% shift differential on second shift hours and a 15% differential on third shift hours. Salary offers consider skills, training, experience, education, certifications, market and organizational factors. Successful candidates may also receive annual performance bonus compensation.

Essential generic job functions:
- Collect blood and/or perform point‑of‑care testing as assigned.
- Cleans and re‑stocks point‑of‑care supplies and prepares phlebotomy carts/trays.
- Assist coworkers with draws and point‑of‑care testing.
- Draw venous or capillary blood from newborn through geriatric patients using proper aseptic collection techniques.
- Deliver blood work (stat, timed, routine) within established departmental policy time frames.
- Draw venous and capillary blood into proper tubes and culture vials according to the intended test.
- Perform and process all point‑of‑care tests on patients ranging from newborn to geriatrics.
- Complete clerical functions associated with point‑of‑care testing documents.
- Report incidents/issues regarding patients or employees timely to group leader or supervisor.
- Report supply needs and equipment defects in a timely fashion.
- Log refrigerator temperatures daily and report out‑of‑range temperatures to group leader or supervisor.
- Travel and perform phlebotomy duties and point‑of‑care testing at health fairs and PSA testing sites, delivering specimens to the laboratory.
- Identify needs of the patient population served and modify and deliver care specific to those needs (age, culture, language, hearing and/or visually impaired, etc.). Communicate with patients, parents, and/or primary caregivers at their level.
- Adhere to the standards identified in the clinic’s organizational competencies.
Physical Requirements:
- Lift light to moderately heavy objects (1–40 lb); objects over 41 lb require assistance.
- Can sit or stand for long periods; requires long hours of eye and hand coordination.
- Can perform repetitive tasks with dominant hand frequently throughout the day.
- Position requires travel.
- Extensive use of phone and PC.
- Fine dexterity, steadiness, talking, walking, balancing, bending/kneeling, pushing/pulling, reaching/twisting.
