Overview
Job Title: Summer STEAM Fitness Coordinator Grades 1-8 (2 positions, 1 at each site)
Job Description: This position will develop, implement, and lead fitness programming as a part of the curriculum for the Faribault Public Schools' Summer STEAM program. This position will be responsible for leading a variety of fitness and wellness activities within the context of the STEAM themes to students in grades 1-8.
Schedule and CompensationSummer STEAM will run from June 22 through July 30, 2026, Monday - Thursday. There will be some required training dates for staff during the week of June 15, which will be communicated to all hired staff once details are finalized. This position will report at one of our Summer STEAM sites, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch. The pay rate will be $38.06/hour.
Applicants who are available for the entirety of the program and willing to work full days will be considered first.
- Develop fitness programming for a range of grade levels
- Create and document lesson plans for fitness programs
- Implement programming and lead activities
- Track students' interest and modify programming appropriately
- Meet with the Summer STEAM team
- Attend training as required in order to provide effective healthy youth development
- May be required to perform other job-related duties as requested by their supervisor
Experience with working in a summer camp setting and leading activities with youth. Experience teaching health/physical education to students grades 1-8. Demonstrated understanding of working with multicultural community members within Faribault. Knowledge of effective multicultural programming.
LicensureLicense by State of Minnesota in Education in Physical Education.
