Position and Salary

NDDOT Temporary Equipment Operator II Salary: $27.11/hour

NDDOT Temporary Equipment Operator I Salary: $24.01/hour

Responsibilities
  • Perform highway, roadway, and structure maintenance, including operating heavy equipment to carry out maintenance duties such as basic snow and ice control/removal.
  • Assist in installing, repairing, and maintaining highway signs and guardrails; operate power tools and other equipment as needed.
  • Keep roadways clear of hazards, including litter, waste, debris, garbage, and carcasses.
  • Complete building and ground maintenance duties and general routine maintenance of roadway and radio system equipment.
  • Perform minor preventive and repair maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
  • Maintain necessary paperwork, including time records, activity reporting, daily diary, road reports, etc.
  • Receive training and perform construction project duties under close supervision.
  • Contribute to a safe working environment for yourself, coworkers, and others.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Temporary Equipment Operator II: valid North Dakota Class A driver license with airbrakes and a cargo tank endorsement plus two years of relevant experience.
  • Temporary Equipment Operator I: valid North Dakota Class B driver license without airbrake restrictions.
  • The position requires reporting to work within 30 minutes, after hours, on weekends, and on holidays during emergency events.
  • Employment is contingent on satisfactorily completing the interview process and the required drug test, medical screening, reference check, driver record check and federal clearinghouse query screening.
