Diesel Mechanic
As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining diesel engines and components used in various vehicles and equipment. Your expertise in diagnosing complex diesel engine conditions and performing necessary repairs will be essential. Effective communication with peers, foremen, and the service team is crucial to ensure quality control and customer satisfaction. Accurate and timely completion of paperwork and meeting certification requirements are also part of the role.
Responsibilities- Repair and maintain diesel engines and components in various vehicles and equipment.
- Diagnose complex diesel engine conditions accurately and efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with peers, foreman, and service team regarding repairs.
- Ensure quality control on work performed to maximize customer satisfaction.
- Maintain and update paperwork, submitting upon completion.
- Meet certification requirements.
- Proficiency in diesel mechanics, troubleshooting, and diagnostics.
- Experience with hydraulics, electrical systems, mechanical systems, brakes, transmissions, and pneumatics.
- Ability to diagnose diesel and electrical issues.
- Must possess own basic set of shop tools.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Carrier refrigeration units is beneficial.
- Willingness and ability to travel for preventative maintenance on generators.
- Willingness to cross-train into working on generators for commercial buildings, data centers, and hospitals.

WorkEnvironment
Work in a well-equipped shop with 8-10 technicians inside, plus a field service crew. The job offers a variety of work with provided uniforms and a tool allowance. The standard working hours are from 7 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday. On-call duties are limited to 3-4 times a year, specifically for carrier reefer units, with no roadside assistance required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fargo, ND.
Pay and Benefits- The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
