Veterinary Toxicology Laboratory Supervisor​/Toxicologist

The North Dakota State University Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (VDL) invites applications for a Diagnostic Veterinary Toxicologist. This is a non-tenure track position in a fully accredited diagnostic laboratory and NAHLN member. Post graduate training in toxicology, analytical chemistry or nutrition and DVM degree or PhD in a related field is required. Preference will be given to board-certified (DABVT, DABT or ACVIM (nutrition) individuals, those with a PhD in analytical chemistry and candidates with experience in toxicology or large animal nutrition.

Responsibilities include serving as Section Head of toxicology, overseeing the daily operation in the toxicology lab and supervising toxicology lab chemists. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to diagnostic service and will accurately interpret and communicate toxicology and ancillary test results to clientele, participate in the laboratory’s quality system, and perform other duties as assigned by the laboratory director.

Excellent oral and written communication skills are critical to the position. Opportunities for collaborative research and teaching exist. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
