Experience with EPIC - highly preferred Level III NICU experience General job duties. Types of procedures required. Level 3 NICU Deliver nursing care to neonates -- assess/diagnose/establish plan with outcome criteria/intervene/evaluate/chart. Assist with procedures -- to include, but not limited to, intubation, spinal taps, PICC line placement, IV starts, admissions. Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. Conventional ventilators (Draeger), high frequency ventilators -- jet and oscillator, nitric oxide, cool cap, Med Fusion pumps, Smart pumps, Spacelab monitors, Epic charting, MAK for medications, Accudose.
Required skills and minimum years of experience. 2+ years Perform neonatal assessments, care for IV's Umbilical lines, CPAP, Nasal Cannula, Oral and IV medications, OG and NG feedings, G-tubes Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. NRP and AHA BLS Shift or schedule requirements. Employee will work with the NICU team. Shifts are 12 hour day/night rotating shifts and will include working every other weekend.
Floating to over units/departments. No Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept. 40 beds Nurse to patient ratio of this unit. 1:1 to 1:2 for critical and intermediate infants; 3:1 for infants who are growing and feeding. Tell us about the unit/department specific training and orientation program. Receive training on Epic (One Chart -- as we call it), 2 days with buddy to teach unit norms, and to assess level of infants the travelling nurse can take safely.
