Background: Care in a 25-bed unit specializing in oncology patients, including hematology and bone marrow transplant.

Unit focus: Oncology care with ongoing educational opportunities and paths toward oncology certification, chemotherapy training, and/or bone marrow transplant certification. This unit supports growth into ICU, Infusion, or Nurse Navigation roles.

• Plans and coordinates patient care, assessment, education, triage and various other nursing interventions
• Collaborates with colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement and evaluate care
• Empathetically cares for patients during all stages of preventive services, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up along the continuum of care
• Demonstrates competency and uses comprehensive nursing expertise

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program required (AACN, ACEN, NLN CNEA). Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred.
• Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where practice occurs; multistate licensure if in an NLC state may apply.
• Obtains and maintains required department-specific competencies and certifications.
