Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift position on a Level 1 trauma unit, requiring an active ND or Compact RN license and recent med/surg experience.
Responsibilities- Work in the 5SE Med/Surg unit of a hospital with a Level 1 trauma designation
- 47-bed department caring for medical-surgical and surgical oncology patients
- Nurse to patient ratios are 5:1 for day shift and 6:1 for night shift
- Required to work 12-hour night shifts, with every other weekend and holiday coverage
- Home unit is 5SE Med/Surg but floating to other med/surg units on any campus is required
- Uses Epic EMR, Accu Dose, bladder scanners, Phillips monitors, and telemetry equipment
- Responsibilities include providing care to general medical and surgical oncology patients in collaboration with inter-professional teams
- Must badge in and out at the facility each shift
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Orientation includes one day lead center training and two 12-hour shifts on unit with a preceptor
- Holiday coverage is required according to unit staffing needs
- Active ND or Compact RN license required
- Minimum 1 year recent medical-surgical nursing experience
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
- Experience in larger hospitals (200+ beds) and Level 2 or higher trauma centers required
- Prior experience with surgical oncology patients preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- Cannot accept candidates residing within a 60-mile radius of the facility
- Candidates living 60-80 miles from the facility qualified at a reduced local travel rate
- Disclosure of any previous employment with Sanford Health required
