1st Shift: 6:00am - 4:30pm (Monday - Thursday)
Position SummaryThe Mill Sanitation Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment within our grain milling facility. This role focuses on removing dust, debris, and buildup from equipment and work areas to ensure operational efficiency and compliance with safety standards. The position supports the overall cleanliness and functionality of the mill and includes tasks that require confined space entry.
Key Responsibilities- Facility Cleaning:
Sweep, vacuum, and clean production areas, including floors, walls, ceilings, and equipment surfaces, to control dust and maintain a tidy workspace. - Dust Control:
Use appropriate tools and methods to minimize airborne dust and accumulation on machinery, conveyors, and structural components. - Confined Space Access:
Perform cleaning and maintenance tasks inside confined spaces, following all confined space entry procedures and safety protocols. - Equipment Care:
Operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as industrial vacuums, blowers, and brooms. Perform routine checks to ensure equipment is in good working condition. - Safety Compliance:
Follow all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures when cleaning near machinery. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and report hazards promptly. - Documentation:
Complete cleaning logs and inspection checklists as required. Report any maintenance issues or areas needing attention to the Facilities Manager. - Collaboration:
Coordinate with production staff to schedule cleaning activities without disrupting operations. Assist with special projects such as deep cleaning during shutdowns.
- 1–2 years in industrial cleaning or maintenance, preferably in a grain milling or similar environment.
- Knowledge of dust control practices, confined space entry procedures, and safe cleaning methods.
- Ability to operate and maintain cleaning tools and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
- Primarily based in a production facility with exposure to machinery, dust, and varying temperatures.
- Requires physical exertion, including lifting and moving heavy objects.
- Adheres to all safety protocols and uses personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
