Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
The Maintenance Technician 3 conducts, maintains, tests, and repairs electrical/electronic, mechanical, and hydraulic systems and components. The position applies knowledge of electronic and mechanical principles in determining equipment malfunctions and applies skills in restoring equipment to operation. The Maintenance Technician 3 provides high-level skilled support to all areas of manufacturing.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- 3 years minimum of mechanical experience.
- Ability to read and interpret manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical equipment at an expert level.
- High ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and perform repairs.
- High ability to disassemble/reassemble equipment with proper replacement parts.

- The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- The employee must frequently be able to sit or stand for long periods.
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 150 pounds, with assistance as necessary.
- The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
- The specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- The employee must be free from communicable diseases.
The Maintenance Technician 3 will ensure smooth operation of the systems and machines, including, but not limited to:
- Ensuring that equipment and building structures are in appropriate condition and approved for use in food manufacturing.
- Assisting in improving the needs and methods of the operation to produce safe and high-quality products.
- Leads, drives, and participates in CI activities/processes, results, and cost savings using CI tools and methodology.
- A team player who is a highly disciplined problem-solver with a strong work ethic.
- Excellent verbal/written communication and customer service skills.
- Responsible for providing strong technical guidance to management personnel.
- Communicating accurately, concisely, and professionally with your customer as to the important repair steps taken, parts ordered, and time estimated until completion.
- Assistance with technical training for other departments/areas.
- Installing, maintaining, and repairing equipment.
- Performing preventative and predictive maintenance.
- Complies with 5S and housekeeping standards.
- Responsible for Food Safety and maintaining the integrity of the SQF system.
- Repair of basic production equipment to complex machines, performing advanced-level mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical work.
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, manuals, technical orders, and schematics to determine repair needs and the proper parts needed.
- Lifting and maneuvering heavy objects, parts, and materials.
- Interacting and working alongside both employees and contractors.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
