Operations Manager, Program / Project Manager
Ulteig is seeking a Senior Project Manager - Construction Management with DOT experience to lead construction projects across North Dakota. This role involves developing client relationships, driving business growth, and contributing to our Civil Department. The ideal candidate must have extensive DOT project management experience and strong leadership skills to handle complex challenges.
This position will collaborate with the civil construction management team and leadership, mentoring junior staff. Candidates may work from Fargo, Bismarck, or Williston offices, or remotely within North Dakota.
What You'll Do- Lead strategic project management for multiple projects
- Develop client relationships and participate in proposals
- Manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets
- Lead project teams to meet project needs
- Mentor and train staff with Technical Managers
- Lead meetings with clients and project teams
- Develop and manage project execution plans
- Communicate project status to stakeholders
- Assess and mitigate project risks
- Handle RFI and action items proactively
- Coordinate with Project Controls to track schedules and costs
- Ensure resource availability and project coordination
- Analyze problems and implement solutions to meet project goals
- Build effective relationships with contacts
- Demonstrate leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Consistently meet goals and uphold high standards
- Prioritize and organize to achieve results
- Maintain customer focus and professionalism
- Build and maintain client relationships
- Pursue personal growth and demonstrate integrity
- Bachelor's in Civil Engineering or relevant field
- PE licensure required
- PMP certification preferred
- 20+ years of DOT and construction management experience preferred
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently
- Successful project delivery experience
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to prepare clear reports
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Willingness to travel
- Pass pre-employment screening
- Authorization to work in the U.S.

Additional details:
Target salary range is $130,400 - $176,500, influenced by skills, experience, and location. The position will be posted for at least 3 days and up to 60 days.
