DSG is seeking a Cyber Security Analyst for Data Loss Prevention (DLP) to join our IT team. As a Cyber Security Analyst - DLP, you will be responsible for protecting DSG’s sensitive data by monitoring, detecting, investigating, and preventing unauthorized data exposure or misuse. This role focuses on analyzing security alerts, managing DLP tools, supporting secure application and data design, and partnering with business, data, and development teams to ensure data is properly classified, protected, and handled in compliance with regulatory requirements.

The position plays a key role in strengthening DSG’s overall cybersecurity posture and safeguarding employee owner, customer, and business information.

A Typical Day in the Life of a Cyber Security Analyst for Data Loss Prevention at DSG:
  • Monitor data transfer activity, APIs, and data movement across systems to identify potential data loss or misuse.
  • Operate and maintain Data Loss Prevention (DLP) tools and technologies.
  • Analyze security alerts and investigate suspected data loss incidents.
  • Respond to security incidents involving data exposure or improper data handling.
  • Partner with business units and data teams to design, implement, and fine-tune DLP solutions.
  • Collaborate with software developers to promote secure application design and data handling practices.
  • Monitor and support secure processes within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Identify vulnerabilities in data management practices and application development processes.
  • Stay current on emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and data security trends.
  • Provide training on data classification, data sensitivity, and data loss prevention best practices.
  • Support organizational cybersecurity awareness and training initiatives.
  • Understand and help ensure compliance with DSG’s regulatory and data protection requirements.
  • Serve as a cybersecurity resource for internal teams and employee-owners.
  • Other duties as necessary or assigned.
A Successful Cyber Security Analyst for Data Loss Prevention Typically Has:
  • Associate degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in IT, cybersecurity, or a related technical role.
  • Experience working with data protection technologies, security monitoring tools, or security operations processes.
  • Knowledge of data management concepts, data classification, and secure software development practices.
  • Experience with data lakes or data repositories preferred.
  • Security-related certifications such as Security+, CGRC, CC, or Data+ are a plus.
  • Strong understanding of security solutions and how they support broader business objectives.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
