Role Summary

This field-based role covers Fargo, Bismarck, Sioux Falls, SD, and surrounding areas. Talent will be hired at a level commensurate with experience and will execute brand strategy and tactics in the field, manage the assigned territory and targeted accounts, build strong customer relationships, and solve customer needs to maximize short- and long-term sales performance while placing the patient at the center of efforts and operating within Abb Vie’s code of conduct, policies, and laws.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed those objectives.
  • Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives and perform post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and drive calls to action to close on sales calls.
  • Proactively serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win‑win agreements between Abb Vie and customers.
  • Develop and execute a call plan that meets set call metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
  • Build understanding of customer needs, territory dynamics, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease states, product, clinical and sales expertise; share market intelligence with in‑field and brand teams to align and optimize strategy.
  • Differentiate Abb Vie’s value proposition with health providers and identify, develop, and maintain disease‑state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.
Qualifications
  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business‑related field preferred or equivalent industry experience required; or five (5) years of relevant industry experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree with three (3) or more years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred and a high school diploma/GED required.
  • Required: Demonstrates in‑depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; recognized as an expert resource by stakeholders; strong business acumen; proficient use of business tools; strategic and critical thinking; effective in a matrix environment; provides innovative ideas to maximize opportunities.
  • Required: Proven track record of selling success and strong presentation skills; ability to identify customer style/behavior and adapt selling approach; capable of impactful contributions and responsive to changes.
  • Required: Influences others and is seen as a credible role model; builds collaborative partnerships with district colleagues and matrix teams; demonstrates positive behaviors and coaching through change.
  • Required: Documented leadership and increased responsibility at district/region levels; uses findings to develop sales strategies.
  • Preferred: Proven sales success within the therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account‑based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing;
    English proficiency (verbal and written).
  • Required: Must satisfy all applicable health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements to gain entry into facilities and organizations in the assigned territory; in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials.
  • Required: HCIR credentialing may include background checks, drug screens, immunizations, fingerprinting, and licenses; you are responsible for satisfying these requirements;
