Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Cath Lab Technologist with at least 2 years of recent experience and current ARRT, RCIS, or RCES certification for a high-acuity cardiac cath lab assignment.
Responsibilities- Work in a Level 1 trauma acute care setting within a cardiac cath lab
- Unit includes 8 cath lab rooms with 1 procedure room
- Procedures include coronary and neuro angiograms/interventions, vascular endographs, device cases, and possible EP and structural heart procedures based on experience
- Uses EPIC, CUPID, and GE MAC Lab/Cardio Lab for documentation and reporting
- Shift options are 8 or 10 hour shifts, Monday through Friday, with one late shift and one call shift per week
- Scheduled to work every 2-3 weekends with rotation of call every 3-4th weekend
- No floating to other units is required
- Primary responsibilities include scrubbing for cardiac, neuro, and peripheral vascular angiograms/interventions, as well as device implants such as pacemakers and ICDs
- Procedures performed may include left/right heart caths, PCI (rotablader, shockwave), pericardiocentesis, intra-aortic balloon pump and Impella insertions/removals, PFO/ASD closure, and EP ablations if experienced
- A 1-2 day orientation with an assigned mentor is provided and tailored to candidate experience
- Call shifts are covered as part of a 4-person team; candidate will not be working alone
- Ceil blue scrubs are provided
- All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
- Candidates who have worked previously with this health system must have an end date at least 6 months prior to consideration
- Candidates living within 80 miles of the facility may be subject to adjusted local rates
- Minimum of 2 years recent experience as a Cath Lab Technologist, CVT, or Rad Tech in scrubbing procedures listed
- Current BLS (AHA) certification required
- Current ARRT (R), RCIS, or RCES certification required
- If certified as ARRT, North Dakota MIRT required prior to start
- Proficiency with coronary stent interventions and sterile technique
- Preferred working knowledge of diagnostic radiographic principles including positioning, image processing, quality control, and radiation protection
- Experience with EP procedures is preferred but not required
