Polysomnographic Technologist, Registered (Straight Nights) Job Details

Job Schedule:
Full time. Salary Range: $27.00 – $38.50 per hour. Sign‑on bonus: $7,500 for a 2‑year commitment.
Performs quality diagnostic polysomnographic (PSG) studies, including titration, multiple sleep latency (MSLT) and maintenance of wakefulness tests (MWT). Records and provides accurate data to physicians for diagnosing sleep/wake disorders.
Responsibilities- Perform sleep study procedures or neurological testing for all patient populations.
- Understand testing equipment, including structure, function, indications, physiological effects, and basic maintenance/troubleshooting.
- Monitor and document patient data in the medical record per facility guidelines.
- Demonstrate knowledge of American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) standards and accreditation.
- Understand and apply knowledge of disease and pathological conditions encountered.
- Educate patients on prescribed therapies and sleep testing; follow up as needed.
- Work with patients of all ages and those with growth and developmental needs.
- Graduate of an accredited program in Electroneuro diagnostic Technology, Respiratory Technology or a related medical specialty preferred.
- Minimum of two years work experience in the sleep disorders field preferred.
- Knowledge of sleep disorders, electrical safety, and ability to use computers for documentation and data gathering.
- If RRT, required to obtain RPSGT or Sleep Disorder Specialty (RRT‑SDS) credential within 2 years of start or must be enrolled in one of the following: A‑STEP Online Self Study Modules (completed within two years of enrollment) or a program accredited by CAAHEP or CoARC with a polysomnography option.
- Licensed as an RRT or RPSGT in North Dakota.
- Maintain mandatory continuing education units (CEU) annually for licensure and/or registry.
- Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 60 days of employment.
