Department DetailsOur team offers a hybrid work schedule with up to two remote days each week and the opportunity to partner with a wide variety of departments across the Fargo Medical Center, Fargo and regional clinics, and our rural hospitals. We’re a dynamic finance department supporting budgeting, ROI analysis, monthly reporting, and a range of strategic projects. We work collaboratively with operational and organizational leadership, creating opportunities to build strong analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills while contributing to high‑quality healthcare delivery.
Team members gain hands‑on experience through project support, operational workflows, and administrative responsibilities, and we actively encourage ongoing learning through training and development across key financial and organizational processes.
The Financial Analyst collaborates with managers, directors, and senior leadership on monthly productivity and remediation of variances, and coordinates on and completes annual operating budgets. Responsibilities include month-end closing, reviewing financial information, journal entries, and ensuring accuracy. Additional duties include maintaining and reporting management systems, reviewing all financial data for accuracy, and collaborating with accounting staff for fair financial representation. The role maintains various departmental statistical and financial data.
Projects may include evaluating the financial impact of new programs, preparing projections for new building projects, and other analysis. Basic understanding of accounting principles and standards is required.
The Financial Analyst is a professional role that requires the ability to manage competing priorities while meeting deadlines, and a commitment to ongoing professional development. Must be self-directed, autonomous, and able to work in an interdependent environment. Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills are required to collaborate with managers. Attention to detail is essential. Work must be well documented.
Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of management and employees, both orally and in writing. Proficiency with computer tools, especially Excel, is required.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, healthcare administration, or related field required.
- Two years of experience required.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), or other professional certification is preferred, but not required.
