The Role
The Teller Supervisor ensures daily operations of the branch teller areas are operating efficiently and effectively. Performs direct supervisory duties for the teller line staff and safe deposit area (where applicable), resolves escalated issues with clients and staff, leads by example as a Player/Coach , provides leadership and day-to-day oversight and training for the Lead Tellers and Tellers; promotes new or expanded relationships for the company by maintaining exceptional client relations and referring clients to appropriate advisors for new products and service solutions;
completes work with a high level of accuracy; and assured compliance with all applicable company policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations. Fully knowledgeable and skilled in teller, vault, safe deposit operations, and may have basic knowledge of opening consumer and business deposit accounts.
- Work with Lead Tellers on scheduling, supervising, training, and developing staff
- Interview, hire, develop and retain staff as well as conduct performance reviews and provide development paths
- Ensure completion of required audits and compliance training for each team member
- Responsible for monitoring, reviewing, and approving weekly time sheets for accuracy
- Work with teller team members to ensure excellent client service is provided to each and every client, including having strong knowledge of Alerus products and services, teller transaction and operations processing
- Has a passion for serving clients and views all actions from the client’s perspective

Work is typically performed in an office setting. The employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time. The employee is occasionally required to move about the office utilizing proper ergonomic safeguards when doing so. Additionally, the employee must occasionally lift or move supplies and materials up to 20 pounds.
