Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Product Verification & Validation (PV&V) Engineer to support electric machines utilized across a diverse portfolio of heavy equipment, including agricultural tractors, construction machinery, turf equipment, and golf products.
This role offers the opportunity to work within a collaborative and innovative engineering environment, contributing to multiple product lines and diverse laboratory settings. The position also provides exposure to emerging technologies, including automation and AI applications within PV&V workflows.
Key Responsibilities
As a PV&V Engineer, you will:
- Develop and execute Product Verification & Validation (PV&V) plans, define validation activities, document work within internal PV&V systems, track progress, and report Activity Completion Rating (ACR) metrics to leadership.
- Collaborate with cross-functional internal teams and external partners to define, execute, and deliver validation activities using laboratory testing, field testing, and electric machine teardowns.
- Validate safety, performance, quality, reliability, durability, and cost targets for electric machines.
- Interpret and apply applicable standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements relevant to electric rotating machines and their applications.
- Execute small- to medium-scale engineering projects in alignment with established program management processes.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, ensuring proper version control and data integrity.
- Participate in professional development initiatives, industry training, conferences, and technical knowledge-building activities.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience developing PV&V plans, activities, work requests, summaries, and schedules.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with rotating components, electric machine design, testing, or implementation.
- Hands-on experience with data acquisition systems and instrumentation such as accelerometers, thermistors, current transducers, and vector network analyzers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and schedule PV&V activities effectively.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 20%.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of electric drivetrain components, including inverters, connectors, and energy storage systems.
- Familiarity with AI-based applications in PV&V or test automation environments.
- Advanced understanding of electric machine design principles, including:
- Continuous and peak load evaluation
- Electromagnetic fundamentals
- Bearings and insulation systems
- Cooling methodologies
- Manufacturability considerations
- Experience with accelerated life testing methodologies.
- Ability to work independently and provide technical direction for validation and engineering improvements.
- Strong project tracking and risk identification skills.
- Experience managing engineering projects with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency with PLM/CAD tools such as Windchill, Creo, or equivalent systems.
- Experience validating electric motors in real-world operating environments.
