Overview
Provide PV&V support for electric machines at John Deere. Create PV&V plans, track activities, generate work requests, and report Activity Completion Rating (ACR) to leadership. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver lab tests, field tests, and machine teardowns, ensuring safety, performance, quality, reliability, and cost compliance.
Responsibilities- Develop and execute PV&V plans for electric machines.
- Track activities in John Deere’s internal PV&V application and report ACR.
- Coordinate lab tests, field tests, and machine teardowns.
- Interpret and implement standards, specifications, and regulations for electric machines.
- Deliver small- to medium-scale projects within an established program management plan.
- Create and maintain complex technical and user documentation.
- Support continuous learning and professional development activities.
- Minimum 2 years of experience creating PV&V plans, activities, work requests, program summaries, and scheduling PV&V activities.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with rotating components, electric machine design, test, or implementation.
- Knowledge of data acquisition equipment and instrumentation such as accelerometers, thermistors, current transducers, and vector network analyzers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- PV&V activity scheduling and prioritization experience.
- Ability to travel up to 20% (local travel).
- Knowledge of related electric drive components (inverters, connectors, energy storage, etc.).
- Knowledge of AI and its uses related to PV&V.
- Analytical detail of electric machine types and design: continuous and peak load evaluation, electromagnetics, bearings, insulating materials, cooling, and manufacturability.
- Experience working across groups to share knowledge and collaborate.
- Knowledge of accelerated test methods.
- Ability to work independently and provide technical guidance on testing and engineering outcomes.
- Experience managing projects and/or programs within cost/time/quality parameters.
- Experience working in Windchill and Creo.
