Senior Project Manager – Transmission Routing and Siting
Join HDR as a Senior Project Manager in the Power sector. Your role will support regional and national transmission routing and siting projects across the North Central U.S. (CO, IA, IL, IN, KS, MI, MN, MO, ND, NE, SD, WI, WY). You will develop buildable solutions for electric transmission infrastructure, collaborate with utilities, developers, consultants, and government agencies, and produce technical documentation that supports defensible line routes and facility site selections.

- Travel 10‑20% of the time.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Experienced in technical leadership on projects seeking a broader leadership role overseeing complex initiatives.
- Background in routing, siting, and supporting regulatory approvals for electric facilities; expert witness testimony experience desired.
- Capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously, researching and writing concise technical documents, and innovating through completion.
- Detail‑oriented, organized, effective communicator, and team player with a strong focus on quality and client service.
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental planning, environmental science, community planning, engineering, landscape architecture, or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in linear projects involving land acquisition, routing, or environmental planning.
- Minimum 8 years of experience writing proposals, developing scopes of work, budgets, and schedules for complex environmental projects with multi‑disciplinary teams.
- Experience preparing applications for state utility regulatory agencies and system operators.
- Expert witness testimony experience.
- Strong conceptual, organizational, analytical, problem‑solving, and research abilities.
- Ability to support multiple complex and time‑sensitive projects effectively.
- Resolution of issues efficiently and effectively.
- Positive, proactive collaboration with design and construction teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- 10 years of related experience.
- Minimum 5 years of project management experience.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, estimating and scheduling software, and project management software.
- Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills (written and verbal).

The compensation range for this position in the North Central region is $125,000 – $180,000.
