Utility Helper - Temporary - Fargo, ND

We anticipate the need for one or more Temporary Utility Helper positions to be located at our Fargo Service Center in Fargo, ND. The starting rate of pay for this position is $28.69 hourly. The anticipated start date for this position will be in March and could potentially extend for the remainder of 2026. This position will be posted for five business days from January 15, 2026, to January 21, 2026.

In this position, you can assist in a variety of job functions within Gas Operations. Your work ranges from performing leak survey of our gas system to performing maintenance, installation, and repair of our gas facilities. These positions involve regulation, metering, odorization, customer piping, and below- and above-ground piping.

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license
• Be able to lift 50 lbs.

• Previous construction or mechanical work experience
• Natural gas leak survey experience

There are two levels of gas helpers: entry level and advanced. To be considered for placement in the advanced level, an applicant must meet all of the above requirements along with work experience in natural gas, polyfusion, possession of a CDL (Class

A), and operation of heavy equipment. Placement within the two levels will be commensurate with a candidate’s skills, education, experience, and need. Applicants are required to successfully pass Xcel Energy screening requirements, which include a security clearance.

Pay: $28.69 to $40.12 per hour (depending on level)
