Honors College Recruiter
Department: NDSU Honors College
Reports To:
Executive Director of the Honors College
The Honors College Recruiter plays a vital role in identifying, attracting, and enrolling exceptional students who will thrive in North Dakota State University's Honors College. This position is responsible for developing and implementing recruitment strategies that highlight the Honors College's unique opportunities, foster strong relationships with prospective students, families, high school counselors, and campus partners, and ensure the College is recognized as a hub of academic excellence, innovation, and community.
Key Responsibilities
* Recruitment & Outreach
* Develop and execute a comprehensive recruitment plan for the Honors College in alignment with NDSU's overall enrollment goals.
* Represent the Honors College at college fairs, high school visits, campus events, and regional/national recruitment programs including Discover NDSU, Summer Open House, specialized visit days, etc.
* Deliver engaging presentations to prospective students, families, and educators about the benefits of the Honors College experience.
* Relationship Building
* Build and maintain strong connections with high school counselors, teachers, and community organizations.
* Partner with NDSU Admissions, faculty, and staff to integrate Honors opportunities into broader recruitment and yield efforts.
* Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective students and families exploring the Honors College.
* Communications & Marketing
* Collaborate with University Marketing and Communications s to create print, digital, and social media campaigns that showcase the Honors College.
* Develop personalized communications and outreach strategies to engage high-achieving students.
* Track and analyze recruitment data to inform strategies and improve outreach effectiveness.
* Programming & Events
* Coordinate Honors College recruitment events, including information sessions, open houses, and visit days.
* Support yield activities such as admitted student programs, scholarship competitions, and orientation sessions.
* Assist in creating an inspiring transition experience for new students joining the Honors College,
Scholarship and Financial Aid Counseling
* Provide individualized financial aid counseling for incoming Honors College students and their families, ensuring they fully understand their aid options and scholarship benefits.
* Serve as a primary resource on federal, state, institutional, public, and private financial aid programs.
* Run and interpret financial aid reports specifically for incoming Honors students to monitor their status and ensure barriers or issues are addressed quickly.
* Collaborate closely and consistently with the Financial Aid and Scholarships department to ensure all scholarship awards and decisions remain fully compliant with federal regulations and institutional policies.

Plan and carry out functions related to recruitment and retention as assigned by the assistant director, associate director, or
director.
* Serve as liaison to assigned academic college in an effort to collaborate on recruitment initiatives and share relevant
information.
* Continually stay updated on academic programs, admission policies, and university best practices.
Work Schedule:
* Schedule varies, but primarily 8-5 Mon-Fri
* Willingness to travel and work evenings/weekends as needed.
Hiring Range:
$47,000/year + DOE
Pay is based on several factors, including budget, labor market, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and/or certification and other business considerations.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in education, communication, marketing, or a related field.
* Strong communication and presentation skills.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse populations.
* Willingness to travel and work evenings/weekends as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Master's degree.
* Experience in student recruitment, admissions, higher education, or related fields.
