This is a part-time or temporary non-benefited position.
The NDSU Residence Life Summer Intern holds responsibilities in areas of residential curriculum, student leadership, orientation, and community engagement and belonging. The selected intern will interact with members of the Residence Life leadership team and learn about different areas of residence life. This may include assisting with summer conferences, facilities management, operations, and general administration. Our goal is to provide a well-rounded experience within a comprehensive Residence Life Program.
Description & Details:
- Leadership
- Attend and present at Residence Hall Association (RHA) and National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) student leader retreats
- Support and empower RHA and NRHH executive board members through one-on-one interactions and meetings
- Attend and assist with the facilitation of the Summer Leadership Institute
- Assist with Welcome Week training and event planning
- Utilize creativity in the development of Social Impact Leader program activities
- Residence Life Experience (residential curriculum)
- Assist with residential curriculum development, strategy and marketing
- Summer Operations
- Attend orientation sessions and assist in facilitation of Residence Life presentations
- Assist with conference check-ins and check-outs
- Additional opportunities are considered based on areas of interest
- Examples may include apartment staff training, summer events, marketing, etc.
- Monday - Friday from 7:30 am - 4:00 pm during the summer with ocassional evenings and/or weekends
- Start date:
May 18, 2026 (negotiable) - End date:
August 7, 2026 (later is negotiable)
- Furnished one-bedroom apartment/studio in on-campus housing (valued at approximately $2,100 for the summer), includes air conditioning, internet, RHA streaming service, and free laundry services in hall
- A 100 block meal plan (valued at $925 for the summer)
- $13/hour
Minimum Qualifications:
- Qualified candidate must be in process of completing a bachelor's degree with the intention of pursuing a career in student affairs
- Must be an active candidate in the ACUHO-I Housing Internship Program
- Work or leadership experience within Residence Life
